Privacy policy
Principal Energy Pty Ltd (ABN 16 681 347 197) is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, who it goes to, and what you can ask us to do about it.

What we collect, and why
The only place this site collects personal information is the enquiry form on thecontact page. Everything on it is optional except your name, company, email address and message, which we need in order to reply.
- Name and company
- To know who the enquiry is from and reply appropriately.
- Email address, and phone number if you give one
- To respond to the enquiry.
- Site location and postcode
- To determine which incentive schemes and distributor rules apply.
- Approximate peak demand or annual consumption, existing solar, single site or portfolio, timeframe
- To size a system and prepare indicative figures.
- Anything written in the message field
- To understand the requirement.
We do not collect sensitive information as the Privacy Act defines it, and we do not ask for payment details anywhere on this site. We have no login, so we do not hold accounts or passwords.
Server logs and anti-spam
Like any website, ours records technical information when a page is requested — IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use it to keep the site running and to identify abuse, not to build a profile of you.
The enquiry form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, and includes a hidden field and a timing check that only automated submissions trigger. These exist to stop spam, not to assess you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not disclose it for anyone else's marketing. Running the site involves these providers, some of which are overseas — by using the form you consent to that disclosure:
- Postmark (Wildbit LLC, United States)
- Delivers the enquiry to us as an email. It processes the contents of the form.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States)
- Hosts the site and provides the Turnstile anti-spam check. Turnstile receives your IP address to distinguish people from automated traffic. Cloudflare also provides our web analytics, which is aggregated and does not use cookies to track you between sites.
Where an enquiry concerns equipment supplied by Weiheng Energy Storage, we may need to share the technical details of your site with the manufacturer to answer it. We will not share your contact details with them without telling you.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, which is why you are not being asked to dismiss a consent banner. The typefaces are served from this site rather than a font network, so loading a page does not disclose your address to a third party for that purpose. Cloudflare may set a cookie strictly to tell human traffic from automated traffic, and Turnstile may store a short-lived token while it completes its check.
How long we keep it
Enquiries arrive as email and are kept while there is a live commercial relationship or a reasonable prospect of one, and after that for as long as we are required to keep business records. When an enquiry no longer serves either purpose, we delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and the form is submitted encrypted in transit. Access to enquiry email is limited to the people who need it. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold and to destroy or de-identify it when it is no longer needed.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email contact@principalenergy.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable period. We may need to verify who you are first. If we refuse access or correction, we will tell you why in writing.
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at that address so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner atoaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
We will update this page if what we collect or who we share it with changes. The date at the top shows when it was last reviewed.
